1903 FORD Model A

FORD — MODEL A — TWO: The first production automobile produced by the Ford Motor Company, which was incorporated on June 16, 1903, the Model A, was a 2-seater runabout capable of a maximum speed of 30 mph. With a weight of just 1250 pounds it was an early manifestation of Henry Ford's grasp of the automotive concept that would be fully exhibited in the Model T. As was common to most early automobiles the Model A had a horse buggy (without the horse of course!) appearance. The motor was positioned under the seat and a detachable tonneau provided seating for two additional passengers who gained access to their seats through a rear door.
