1904 OLDSMOBILE French Front, 1-cyl., 7 hp

OLDSMOBILE — TOURING RUNABOUT — ONE-CYLINDER: The Oldsmobile Touring Runabout was a larger car than the Model “6C” Curved Dash Oldsmobile. It is popularly known as the “French Front” model. The wheelbase was 10 inches longer than that of the Curved Dash. The Touring Runabout had a conventional hood with louvers on the side, twin bucket seats to accommodate two passengers and a sloping rear deck. The fenders were larger than those used on the Curved Dash and a steering wheel was featured. The horizontal engine was mounted under the “body”, which was little more than a pedestal held in place with just four bolts. Standard equipment included pressure feed lubrication, jump spark ignition, single chain drive, angle steel frame, tires and tools.
