1918 CHEVROLET Series D, V-8

CHEVROLET — SERIES D — V-8: The Chevrolet V-8 Series D came in two models. The D-4 was a four-passenger roadster, the D-5 a five-passenger touring. Both were finished in Chevrolet green and had French-pleated leather upholstery. A 20-gallon gas tank was mounted at the rear of the frame. The touring was a four-door model. The roadster was actually more of a two-door “dual-cowl” touring car. Rear slanting hood louvers were used. The body was described as “a delight to the eye” and “a series of curves that blend harmoniously.” All visible woodwork was of genuine mahogany and metal parts were nickle. The body foundation was of pressed steel. Standard equipment included a one-man waterproof top with side curtains and Bair brackets; windshield; sixteen candle power headlights; speedometer; demountable rims with extra rim; tire carrier; license holder and tools.
