HUDSON CUSTOM EIGHT — HHU — EIGHT: Although the styling of the 1935 Hudson was very similar to the 1934 model, there were many improvements that have prompted Hudson historians to regard the 1935's as the first modern Hudsons. The most dramatic advancement was the industry's first all steel body which Hudson introduced prior to General Motor's Turret Top. The most predominant external changes aside from the steel roof were the new bullet-shaped headlight shells, larger rear windows and narrow hood louver panels. The use of flatter rear leaf springs enabled overall height to be lowered 1.5 inches. On July 8, 1935 the Hudson Motor Car company celebrated its 26th anniversary with the production of its 2,262,810th automobile.
