1937 STUDEBAKER Model 5A/6A, Dictator Six

STUDEBAKER — DICTATOR — SERIES 5A/6A — SIX: All 1937 Studebakers had new front end styling. Hoods were of one piece construction. They were hinged at the cowl and raised from the front. The slanting, rounded radiator shell had horizontal grille bars. The top portion of the grille bars extended along the sides of the hood, forming ventilating louvers. A new feature, dual built-in warm air windshield defrosters, was available. A new flat type, 18 gallon gas tank, provided increased space in the trunk. A new safety feature was rotary door latches with safety catches. Standard equipment included a gas gauge, engine thermometer, Autolite ignition lock, Geo. W. Borg clock, Casco cigar lighter, safety glass, one sun visor, dual windshield wipers, bumper, Houde shock absorbers, spring covers and Budd steel disc wheels.
