1938 LINCOLN Zephyr, V-12

LINCOLN-ZEPHYR — TWELVE: The Lincoln-Zephyr received a major styling revision utilizing new front sheet metal and rear fenders as well as a longer, 125 inch wheelbase. The grille now was divided and consisted of very thin, horizontal chrome bars. This design set the theme for the rest of the Lincoln-Zephyr's exterior body trim. The narrow belt line molding enhanced the low profile of the Zephyr which was further accentuated by the four side hood bars. Furthering the integration of the Zephyr's various body trim components into an extremely coherent styling format was the unobtrusive hood ornament which flowed downward to accentuate the 2-piece grille design. At the rear the fenders were like those up front, larger and more elongated than previously. The teardrop shaped headlights were incorporated into the smooth form of the fenders.
