ROADMASTER — SERIES 70 — The Roadmaster shared the new General Motors C-body, which used closed quarters in sedan roofs and fastback sedanette styling for coupes. Roadmasters had longer front fenders and four ventiports per side, with series script below, and also within bumper guard crossbar centers. Skirted rear wheelhouse openings were standard, as were all features found on the Super Series 50. Interior fabrics were plusher, with a Custom trim option again offered. A new instrument panel was used that continued Buick's centered radio grille flanked by operational switches. Windshield panels were curved, but still had a division bar. The Model 79R Estate Wagon had mahogany veneer panels inside, with leather upholstery and carpeted floors and cargo area, while the Model 76C was upholstered in leather and had standard power windows, seat and top.
