1951 HUDSON Super Custom Series 5A, 6-cyl., 124" wb

SUPER CUSTOM — SIX — SERIES 5A — For 1951, Supers were given the new frontal treatment and basically the type of side trim used on 1950 Commodores, but without standard outer grille guards. Small hubcaps were seen. The regular assortment of equipment was identical to that listed for Pacemakers, with only a few exceptions. Variations included rear ashtrays housed in recess panels on the doors and inner rear quarter panels (instead of front seatback) and wing-type ventipanes for sedan rear quarter windows. Upholstery was in tan Bedford cloth with brown and maroon stripes. A new Hollywood model, with two-door pillarless hardtop styling, was introduced in September of 1951 as a late-year addition to the line. A new, rounded corner trapezoid-shaped front center grille guard was seen on all ‘big’ Hudsons, including the Supers.
