EIGHTY-EIGHT SERIES — A complete restyling was introduced across the board for Oldsmobile in 1954. The entry level Olds series was again the Eighty-Eight. Gone was the misleading Deluxe Eighty-Eight terminology. The bottom series was powered by slightly de-tuned Rocket V-8. A third model was added to this series-the popular two-door Holiday hardtop. Standard Eighty-Eight equipment included: bumper guards, rubber simulated carpets front and rear, electric clock, lined trunk, dual horns, cigarette lighter, aluminum door sill plates and turn signals. Eighteen standard paint colors were offered in 1954 and 18 factory two-tone combinations. Upholstery was either gray, green or blue pattern cloth. Standard tire size was 7.60 × 15 inches
