NINETY-EIGHT — Again in 1956, the top-of-the-line Oldsmobile series had an exclusive wheelbase four inches longer than the two Eighty-Eight series cars. Power came from a 240-hp Rocket V-8 shared with Super Eighty-Eights. Standard equipment included all items found on the lower series plus back-up light moldings, electric clock, Jetaway Hydra-Matic Drive, padded dash, courtesy lights, power steering, windshield washers and Deluxe steering wheel. Upholstery choices were pattern cloth and leather in a variety of colors and combinations. Standard tire size was 8.00 × 15 inches either U.S. Royal, Goodrich or Firestone.
