1959 AMC Ambassador Custom, V-8

AMBASSADOR EIGHT — (V-8) — SERIES 80 — The 1959 Ambassador retained the same basic styling seen in 1958, with changes being comparable to those seen on Rambler and Rambler Rebel. The wide gap above the upper grille bar had Ambassador spelled out in stand-up block letters. Similar lettering appeared on the deck lid or tailgate. Custom models had silver aluminum trim inside dual side moldings. ScotchLite reflecting sections were found on the rear face of the back fenders. The four-door hardtop had Custom Country Club written on the rear fender tips. Other cars, depending on trim line, read Custom or Super in the same spot. The front of the side trim spear had Ambassador lettering at its tip. The side trim, although similar to the Rambler type had more of a lightning bolt shape than a missile shape.
