RAMBLER AMERICAN — (6-CYL) — SERIES 01 — Annual styling revisions included removal of upper beltline moldings from below the windows of all Americans. A new four-door sedan was introduced in this series. A rooftop luggage rack was standard on the station wagons. A minor change was an increase in the door opening angle, from 55- to 75-degrees. Supers had a horizontal front spear on the doors and fenders and American front fender scripts. Customs had a similar chrome spear and, like Supers, used chrome windshield and rear window surrounds. Deluxe models had no side trim or bright metal window surrounds. Custom, Super or Deluxe scripts appeared at the rear of all cars and all had either American or Rambler American scripts on the front fendersides.
