RAMBLER AMERICAN — (6-CYL) — SERIES 6200 — The 1962 Rambler American had no major styling changes. The Super models were dropped and replaced by a '400' that had the overhead valve engine standard. Bucket seats were optional only with the '400'. A new Canadian assembly plant was opened in Brampton, Ontario, Canada to build Americans and Classics. Standard equipment for Deluxe models included air cleaner, oil filter, front armrests, front ashtray, dual sun visors, turn signals, black rubber floor mats, black rubber cargo mats in wagons and five black tubeless tires, self-adjusting brakes and front foam cushion. Custom models featured all of the above, plus rear door armrests, rear ashtray, colored carpet in wagons, automatic dome switches on front doors, station wagon travel rack, chrome horn ring and cigar lighter.
