1963 AMC Classic

RAMBLER CLASSIC SIX — (6-CYL) — SERIES 6310 — The Rambler Classic for 1963 was completely redesigned. It had a clean, lower and narrower box shape on a longer 112-inch wheelbase. The front grille consisted of a double convex surface of fine U-shaped vertical bars with Rambler across the front. It was a one-piece aluminum stamping. New curved glass side windows were used along with new push-button door handles. New series identification numbers were placed in the center of the trunk lid. There was also Rambler identification trim below the trunk lid. A new tri-pose engine mounting system was used. It replaced a four-point system used earlier. At the beginning of the 1963 model year, only a Classic Six was available and it came in Deluxe, Custom and 400 series.
