RAMBLER AMBASSADOR 990 — (V-8) — SERIES 6480 — The 1964 Ambassador 990 looked like a Rambler Classic with some of its teeth knocked out. At the center of each stack of chrome grille dashes, a few dashes were omitted. This left a gap that was filled with Ambassador lettering. Seen on the hood, above the center of the grille, was a winged medallion. Side trim consisted of rocker sill moldings; full-length horizontal lower beltline steps, horizontal chrome slashes on the rear roof pillar, and vertical louvers on the front fenders behind the wheel openings. The deck lid or tailgate was decorated with a horizontal beauty panel that matched the general texture of the front grille. A chrome extension panel appeared between the rear bumper and wheelhousing.
