1967 AMC Ambassador 990

AMBASSADOR — (SIX) — SERIES 80 — The 1967 Ambassador was the top American Motors' model, but it actually shared the basic body of the new Rebel. The major difference was that the front end stretched four inches longer It had vertically stacked quad headlights flanking a horizontal bar grille. Ambassador scripts were placed on the sides of the front fenders (behind the wheel opening) and on the left-hand edge of the hood. There was also a new stand-up hood ornament and segmented vertical taillamps. The basic 880 had low level trim and appointments with almost bare bodysides. The 770 models had a full-length lower side molding similar to that described for other lines. The starring role went to the DPL, which carried a horizontal center grille divider and integral Rally lights up front. This was the final season before the curtain dropped on the Ambassador convertible.
