1967 AMC Rebel SST

RAMBLER REBEL — (SIX) — SERIES 10 — Rebel nameplates now adorned the cars that used to be called Classics, as the series name was changed this year. The Rambler Rebel was also a totally redesigned automobile poised on a longer, 114-inch wheelbase. The top-of-the-line entry was known as the SST, which stood for Super Sport Touring (not Super Sonic Transport). New body styling featured slightly rounded body contours with a semi-fastback roof on two-door styles. In February 1967, AMC introduced three special, limited-production station wagons. The first was called the Briarcliff and 400 examples were sold only in the Eastern portion of the United States. The second was the Mariner, marketed to just 600 buyers in coastal areas.
