1969 AMC AMX

AMX — (V-8) — SERIES 30 — The 1969 AMC was described as being “more racy looking than ever,” but was really little changed. Its introduction as a late-1968 entry precluded major revisions for its second year. There was a new 140 mph speedometer and tachometer with a larger face. Many minor running changes evolved as the year progressed, the most obvious being the addition of a hooded dash panel cover in most 1969s. New convenience items included a passenger grab handle above the glovebox and a between-the-seats package tray. Leather upholstery trims were a new option. The 290-cid four-barrel V-8 engine was the base powerplant and engines with displacements of 343 and 390 cid were available.
