1969 AMC Javelin

JAVELIN — (SIX) — SERIES 70 — The 1969 Javelin had a new twin venturi grille with a round, bull's-eye emblem on the left-hand side. Otherwise, it was largely unchanged. The side stripes were redesigned. There had formerly been two narrow parallel stripes running full-length along the beltline. Now there was a larger C stripe traveling down the mid-side of the car and turning downward at the trailing edge of the front wheelhousing. This change was put into effect on Jan. 9, 1969, so both designs appeared on 1969 models. Another Javelin revision was a new trim treatment for the instrument panel in standard-level cars and extensive use of woodgrained paneling in the Javelin SST interior. Introduced as a midyear addition was the Mod Javelin, which came in the same colors as the Big Bad AMX. Many Mod Javelins were marketed with the Craig Breedlove options package.
