1969 AMC Rambler

RAMBLER — (SIX/V-8) — SERIES 01 — Formerly the Rambler American, the 1969 base model got a shortened name. It retained its compact dimensions and overall styling in line with AMC's new policy of maintaining design continuity from year to year for its low-priced models American nameplates were gone from the grille and a new chrome side molding was used. Some of the mechanical improvements earmarked for the more expensive AMC products were incorporated in the Rambler. They included a new accelerator cable linkage, suspended accelerator pedal; Clear Power 24 battery and parking lamps that remained on with headlamps. Regular equipment included all regulation safety features; front armrests; front ashtrays; heater and defroster; head restraints; front foam seat cushions; a 199-cid six and 6.45 × 14 blackwall tires.
