CUTLASS — The next step up the Oldsmobile ladder in 1969 was the Cutlass series. Two-door models had a shorter wheelbase than four-doors. Cutlass two-door models were also tagged Cutlass S. High-performance became more important for Olds intermediate buyers and this trend now extended beyond the 4-4-2 buyer. A potent “W-31” package was available in Cutlass and Cutlass Supreme models. It was based on a “Force-Air” inducted 350-cid V-8 with special equipment. Standard Cutlass features included all F-85 items plus hood louvers, insulated fiberglass hood blanket, nylon blend carpeting, special molding package and Deluxe steering wheel. Standard tire size was 7.75 × 14 inches. Upholstery was vinyl or cloth.
