AMBASSADOR — (SIX/V-8) — SERIES 80 — A new cross-hatched grille insert pattern characterized the 1970 Ambassador line. The rear quarter panels and bumper were also restyled. A large, rectangular taillamp crossed the back of the car. Trim distinctions between the various models followed the 1969 pattern Standard equipment for the base Ambassador was the same as for the Rebel SST plus 55-amp alternator; air conditioning; F78-14 blackwall tires and 232 cid/155 hp six. The Ambassador DPL also had full wheel discs; Shift-Command automatic transmission (with base V-8) and a 304 cid/210 hp two-barrel V-8 engine. A standard extra Ambassador SST was individually adjustable reclining front seats.
