AMX — (V-8) — SERIES 30 — The 1970 AMX got new rear lamps and a completely restyled front end and that was shared with Javelin performance models. The frontal treatment featured a grille that was flush with the hood and redesigned bumper housing squarish parking lamps. A horizontally divided, cross-hatched grille insert, with prominent bright vertical moldings, was used and also incorporated circular rally lights. The restyled hood had a large Ram-Air induction scoop that took in cold air for the engine. Height was reduced about one inch, while overall length grew about two inches. Standand equipment included all items used with Javelin SST models, plus a heavy-duty 60-amp battery; courtesy lights; rear traction bar; Space-Saver spare tire; tachometer; 140 mph speedometer; 14 × 6-inch styled steel wheels; E78-14 blackwall tires; four speed manual floor shift transmission and 360 cid/290 hp four-barrel V-8 wit ...
