1970 AMC Rebel

REBEL — (SIX/V-8) — SERIES 10 — The 1970 Rebel received new rear quarter panel styling and a more massive rear bumper. There were two large, horizontal-rectangular taillights with Rebel spelled out between them. There was a new vertically split and horizontally segmented grille. The Rebel SST had a bright metal molding on the front fenders, between the door handle and side marker lights. Model identification lettering was placed behind the front wheel opening and, on SST, below the rear roof pillar. There was similar Rebel lettering on the left lip of the hood. Standard Rebel features began with the regulation safety equipment (used in all 1970 AMC models), plus front and rear armrests (except two-door); front ashtray; cigarette lighter; dome or side lights; rubber trunk mat; dual headlights; front foam seat cushions; E78-14 fiberglass-belted blackwall tires; and 232 cid/145 hp six.
