GTO — (V-8) — SERIES 242 — A new Endura nose piece identified the 1971 GTO. It had larger twin grille cavities, round parking lamps and integral body colored bumpers. Other characteristics included twin air slots at the front of the hood and GTO lettering on left-hand grille, front fendersides and right-hand edge of the deck lid. Standard equipment included all items found on LeMans models plus engine-turned aluminum dash inserts, dual exhaust with extensions through valance panel, power-flex cooling fan, heavy-duty stabilizer bars, shock absorbers and springs and G70-14 blackwall tires. For $395 extra “The Judge” option was available. This option (code 332) included the 455-cid four-barrel HO V-8, Rally II wheels (less trim rings), hood air inlet system, T-handle gearshift control (with manual transmission), rear deck lid air foil, specific side stripes, “The Judge” decals, RAM AIR decals, ...
