1972 AMC Ambassador Brougham, V-8

AMBASSADOR — (V-8) — SERIES 80 — The 1972 Ambassador received just a few changes, the most noticeable one being a new radiator grille. It incorporated three heavy horizontal bright blades that, together with thinner vertical blades, formed a grid of large, square openings. There was an Ambassador chrome signature script at the left-hand side. The rearview also reflected two changes: new taillights and an attractive center trim panel. Six styles were provided in two levels of trim: SST or Brougham. A six was not available. Standard equipment began with all items found in or on Matadors plus a big 55-amp alternator (to provide a strong electrical system with standard air conditioning); rear armrests; front and rear bumper guards on hardtops and sedans; inside hood release; power brakes; Torque Command gearbox; and the 304-cid V-8.
