1973 AMC Ambassador Brougham, V-8

AMBASSADOR — (V-8) — SERIES 80 — Luxury was a key word in describing the 1973 Ambassador line of hardtop, sedan and station wagon. The SST Series was discontinued and Broughams were exclusively retained. A 304-cid V-8; automatic transmission; power steering; power front disc brakes, white sidewall tires; tinted glass; and AM radio were all standard Ambassador Brougham features. Guard-rail steel door beams, for side impact protection, were part of the construction after Jan. 1, 1973. In addition, a quieter type of seat belt warning buzzer was used. Styling features included a slightly redesigned grille with heavier vertical and horizontal moldings. The Ambassador signature was gone from the left side. On the front bumper, a black rubber impact strip appeared.
