1973 AMC Javelin, V-8

JAVELIN — (SIX/V-8) — SERIES 70 — The Javelin and Javelin AMX sports hardtops featured a new, smooth roofline. A new taillight treatment, with twin-pod lamps at each side of the car, was adopted. The Javelin AMX was unchanged otherwise, but the Javelin base models had a recessed plastic grille that was distinctive from the past. It was flush with the front of the car and incorporated rectangular Rallye lights. Bucket seats were standard in both Javelin and Javelin AMX lines, along with interior packaging of the aircraft cockpit-type. Both cars featured spoiler lips over the rear window, with a rear spoiler optional on AMX. Standard equipment was similar to that offered in 1972. A special model called the ‘Trans-Am Victory Javelin’ was offered in 1973.
