1974 AMC Ambassador Brougham

AMBASSADOR BROUGHAM-(V-8)-SERIES 80-The 1974 Ambassador received a completely new frontal treatment, which was more squared-off and designed to meet a new federal five mph barrier crash test. The grille surround was completely straight (though not flat) on top and bottom and outlined the entire grille including the dual headlights. These units had round lenses mounted in square bezels. A fine-grid pattern insert was divided, horizontally by two thicker bright moldings forming three levels of background gridwork. There was a stand-up hood ornament and Ambassador lettering on the left-hand hood lip. The new bumper, which no longer housed the park/turn lamps, was slightly thicker at the center and had an overall shelf-like look.
