1974 AMC Gremlin, V-8

GREMLIN-(SIX/V-8-SERIES 40 — There was a new grille for the 1974 Gremlin, but it didn't look totally fresh and new. A multitude of thin, horizontal blades filled a slightly taller opening. The molding around the entire insert was different. The side pieces had a bend instead of being straight. To complement the grille pattern, there were horizontal grooves on the headlight door/fender extension panels. They began just outside the grille surround and swept around the front body corners, with the upper grooves being interrupted by the headlamp lenses. A new bumper, of the energy-absorbing type, was used. It had a shelf-like appearance and black, rubber-faced guards. A Gremlin script was again placed on the left front face of the scoop-like hood bulge. Several new trim variations could be seen on the side of the Gremlin.
