HORNET — (SIX/V-8) — SERIES 01 — The styling seen on 1974 AMC Hornets was slightly revised. A new energy-absorbing front bumper looked much the same as before, but the full-width vinyl impact strip was replaced by rubber-faced bumper guards spaced widely apart, just inboard d the grille-mounted Rallye lights. The grille itself still consisted of many fine, vertical louvers, but the horizontal center bar that integrated the lamps was now finished in black. A new side trim treatment featured a thin, straight upper beltline molding that ran from the taillamps to the front fender tip and, then, down around the side marker light, with a shape paralleling the front fender edge contour. A second full-length molding ran from below the taillamp (and above the rear bumper end) to a point under the front side marker light.
