1975 AMC Matador

MATADOR (COUPE) — (SIX/V-8) — SERIES 10 — After 1974, the Matador coupe was distinct from the four-door styles. This year, American Motors emphasized the difference by placing the two types into different series. The sedan and wagon were moved into the 80 Series slot, vacated by the Ambassador Brougham. That left the Matador coupe, by itself, in Series 10. Newly styled road wheels; front disc brakes and radial tires were standard equipment in the Matador ‘X’ coupe. Styling changes included a new grille with full-length horizontal bars forming a rectangular pattern. The standard engine was the 258-cid six, with three V-8s optional. Eighty-nine cars left the factory with 401-cid V-8 engines though that engine was not on the normal equipment list. Factory records indicate four 401s were Matador coupes.
