MATADOR (COUPE) — SERIES 10 — SIX/V-8 — Unchanged externally, the new Matadors contained interior packages that had formerly been offered only in the luxury Brougham model (which was dropped this year). Engine choices remained as in 1976, but the high-performance 360 cu. in. V-8 was gone, as was the police 401. Standard equipment now included a 258 cu. in. six, Torque Command automatic transmission, power steering and front disc brakes, individual reclining seats in Brampton Plaid fabric, heater/defroster, color-keyed carpeting, front/rear ashtrays, front lighter, extra quiet insulation, two-speed wiper/washers, light group, protective bodyside scuff moldings, wheel covers, bumper guards, front sway bar, day/night mirror and custom steering wheel.
