1977 OLDSMOBILE Delta 88, V-8

DELTA 88 — SERIES 3B — V-6/V-8 — The Delta 88 was totally redesigned and downsized. It now qualified as “family-size” (whatever that might mean). The new version made more efficient use of interior space. Redesigned front/rear seats actually increased back-seat knee and leg room, even though the car was smaller on the outside. Models included the base Delta 88 and Royale, in two-door coupe and four-door town sedan body styles. Front-end design was similar to the former full-size appearance, with twin-segment grille. But each of the four grille sections now contained thin horizontal strips. An Olds emblem decorated the center divider panel. Quad rectangular headlamps stood above matching clear quad horizontal park/turn lamps. Headlamps didn't quite reach the fender tips, and no wraparound markers were used.
