1977 OLDSMOBILE Ninety-Eight, V-8

NINETY-EIGHT — SERIES 3C — V-8 — Like the Delta 88, the posher Ninety-Eight was sharply downsized, but to a 119 inch wheelbase (three inches longer than the 88). Four models were again offered: two-door coupe and four-door sedan, in Luxury and Regency series. The grille had a bright, chrome-plated look with broad framework and bright center divider with recessed Ninety-Eight emblem. Each of the two sections contained a tight eggcrate (Crosshatch) pattern. As before, quad rectangular headlamps stood above quad park/turn lamps. Separate marker lenses were used. Both models had specific sail panel identification. Regency sedans included an exterior sail panel light. Vertical taillamps in rear-quarter end caps included a Rocket emblem in each lens, and vertical divider.
