1977 OLDSMOBILE Omega, V-8

OMEGA/F85 — SERIES 3X — V-6/V-8 — Omega's front end design was similar to 1976, but the grille now displayed an eggcrate (Crosshatch) pattern instead of vertical bars. Single headlamps appeared again, with parking lamps in the grille's outboard ends. A body-color bumper centerfiller was used. Model lineup was the same: F85, standard Omega and Brougham. New taillamps had a flush, full-width appearance. They stretched from the recessed license plate to the outside and wrapped around onto the quarter panel. Square backup lenses were at the center of each lens set. Inside was a new instrument panel and steering wheel. Standard engine was the 231 cubic inch (3.8-liter) V-6, with 260 cubic inch (4.3-liter) V-8 optional. In California and high-altitude areas, the option was a 350 cubic inch V-8 instead.
