1977 OLDSMOBILE Toronado Brougham, V-8

TORONADO — SERIES 3E — V-8 — Appearance of the front-drive Oldsmobile was similar to 1976, but the grille had a different look. Still squat, it was nonetheless taller than before, now displaying a wide-hole rectangular egg-crate pattern (10×4 hole) instead of the former horizontal strips. Quad headlamps now stood above quad park/signal lamps, and identifying lamps instead of parking lights went into each front fender tip. Small slots were inboard of bumper guards. A small ‘Oldsmobile’ nameplate went above the grille on the driver's side, replacing the former full-width lettering. Horizontal amber/clear marker/cornering lenses were mounted ahead of the front wheel panel. In addition to the basic Brougham, Toronado offered a new XSR (changed to XS) model that had a restyled roof with panoramic wraparound back window.
