1978 AMC Gremlin, V-8

GREMLIN — SERIES 40 — FOUR/SIX — Following its 1977 restyle, Gremlin turned to interior refinements for the ‘78’ model year. These included color-keyed carpeting, a custom steering wheel, and a new instrument panel with standard AM radio. Engineering improvements cut down on engine noise and exhaust manifold rattles. Thirteen colors were available on Gremlins. Air conditioning was available with the four-cylinder engine. Custom Gremlins now sported standard whitewall B78 × 14 tires with wheel covers plus scuff moldings. Standard equipment also included a 232 cu. in. six-cylinder engine (or 2.0-liter four) with electronic ignition, three-speed floor shift, manual front disc brakes, heater/defroster, vinyl seat upholstery, rear bumper guards, body paint stripes, locking glovebox, and rocker panel moldings.
