1978 OLDSMOBILE Toronado Brougham, V-8

TORONADO — SERIES 3E — V-8 — Front-end appearance of the front-drive Olds was similar to 1977, but the grille now contained a vertical-bar design instead of an eggcrate pattern, with a bright bead around each grille opening. Gray bumper rub strips with twin white stripes were standard. Rear quarter side markers were part of the standard color-coordinated bodyside moldings. Rear bumper vertical pads had a simulated reflex with Olds emblems. Tor-onado's XS model became an option package. A standard microprocessor sensing and automatic regulation (MISAR) system monitored and adjusted ignition timing in response to engine vacuum and speed and coolant temperature. Standard engine was the 403 cubic inch four-barrel V-8. Also standard: Turbo Hydra-matic, power brakes/steering, power windows, velour upholstery, digital clock, Four Season air conditioning and cornering lamps.
