1979 OLDSMOBILE Omega, V-8

OMEGA — SERIES 3X — V-6/V-8 — Not many Oldsmobiles entered a new year without at least a revised grille, and Omega was no exception. This one had four sections on each side, each contained a set of thin vertical bars. Amber vertical park/signal lamps stood at the outboard ends of the grille (in the same framework). Single round headlamps were used again. Base Omegas came in notchback coupe, hatchback coupe and four-door sedan; Brougham as a coupe and sedan. Standard engine was a 231 cubic inch (3.8-liter) V-6. The SX option on base Omega coupe and hatchback included rocker panel and wheel opening moldings, special wheel opening and bodyside decals, sport styled mirrors, Rallye suspension and custom sport steering wheel.
