CONCORD — SERIES 01 — FOUR/SIX — Base Concords again were powered by a 151 cu. in. four with four-speed floor shift and had manual disc brakes, bench seats, a front sway bar, P195/75R14 blackwall glass-belted radial tires with wheel covers, and a compact high-pressure spare tire. They also had the option of a five-speed overdrive floor shift, which produced a 37 mpg EPA highway rating with the four. A reworked, wider-ratio automatic transmission also helped mileage when coupled to the optional 258 six with a lower final axle ratio. External appearance was unchanged. Standard equipment also included two-speed wiper/washers, dome light, lighter, carpeting, a hood ornament, dual body pin stripes, and black scuff moldings on body sides. Concord DL models added individual vinyl reclining seats, molded fiberglass headliner and visors (Alpine fabric), a day/night inside mirror, dual rear ashtrays, digital electronic clock ...
