1982 OLDSMOBILE Omega, V-6

OMEGA — SERIES 3X — FOUR/V-6 — Four compact Omega models were offered: base and Brougham coupe and sedan, along with ES-2500 and ES-2800 options. Styling changes included a new, slightly sloping front end with a grille containing 5×4 eggcrate-patterned segments on each side of the divider. Park and turn signal lamps were recessed behind the grille, with single headlamps at the outboard sides. Dual-lens taillamps contained integral vertical backup lights with Olds emblem. Taillamps had a lower appearance, not reaching the decklid top. A new ESC option on Brougham coupe featured “continental” styling and lightweight flex fenders. Omega had new fluidic windshield wipers, a larger gas tank and match-mounted tires with pressure increased to 35 psi. A new high-output 2.8-liter V-6 became optional in Omega ES, with free-flow exhaust, improved cylinder head port design, and high-output camshaft. The base ...
