1983 AMC Concord, 6-cyl.

CONCORD — SERIES 01 — SIX — Like the Spirit, the Concord carried a standard 258 cu. in. six for 1983, abandoning the four-cylinder. That engine now had a new fuel feedback system and knock sensor for added efficiency. Only the twin four-door models remained: sedan and station wagon, in base or DL trim (plus a Limited wagon). DL sedans sported a full vinyl roof and opera windows. The enlarged standard equipment list included a front sway bar, front and rear ashtrays, lighter, coat hooks, color-keyed carpeting, Alpine fabric headliner and sun visors, energy absorbing front/rear bumpers, a hood ornament, drip rail and windshield moldings, wide rocker panel moldings, and scuff belt moldings. DL and Limited equipment was similar to 1982. The ‘Concord’ nameplate was on the upper corner of the grille, as well as on front fenders.
