1983 OLDSMOBILE Delta 88, V-8

DELTA 88 — SERIES 3B — V-6/V-8 — Hardly a year went by without a grille change on most Oldsmobiles, and that was the extent of the change for the Delta 88. The new grille consisted of horizontal bars divided into three sections on each side of the traditional wide divider. Six models were offered: base sedan, Royale coupe and sedan and Royale Brougham coupe and sedan. The 231 cubic inch (3.8-liter) V-6 was standard, with the 307 cubic inch (5.0-liter) gas fueled V-8 or 5.7-liter diesel optional. Both gas and diesel V-8s could have either three- or four-speed automatic. Base 88 standard equipment included power steering and brakes, driver's remote mirror, bumper guards and rub strips, lighter, P205/75R15 blackwall SBR tires and compact spare tire.
