TORONADO — SERIES 3E — V-6/V-8 — Engine selection on the personal-luxury front-drive coupe was the same as Ninety-Eight. Essentially a carryover, the grille was slightly revised. The panel above the full-width grille added a center emblem and lost its nameplate (which moved onto the grille itself). A new optional sound system from Delco/Bose, rated 100 watts, included an electronic-tuning radio/cassette player with Dolby noise reduction, dynamic noise reduction, and custom-equalized sound. Toronado standard equipment included the 252 cubic inch (4.1-liter) V-6 with four-speed automatic overdrive, power steering and brakes, AM/FM electronic-tuning stereo radio, speed control (with resume feature), tilt steering wheel, power windows, Four Season air conditioning, power antenna (in front fender) and digital clock.
