1984 OLDSMOBILE Omega, V-6

OMEGA — SERIES 3X — FOUR/V-6 — Changes were modest for the compact front-drive. A new flush-look bumper treatment was possible through use of thermoplastic olifin bumper end caps. Omega's new grille consisted of horizontal strips. Park/signal lamps were now vertical, mounted between the grille and headlamps. Manual-shift models included an upshift indicator light. New tread design on standard SBR all-season tires improved snow/wet traction, but kept noise down. Four models were available: base and Brougham, coupe and sedan. Engines were the same as 1983: base 151 cubic inch (2.5-liter) four; optional 2.8 V-6 (standard or high-output). Brougham sedans could have an ES package (RPO code W48), featuring an “international” theme similar to Firenza's. The revised grille had a blacked-out treatment.
