EAGLE — SERIES 30 — SIX — Eagles no longer had to be stationary to switch from two-wheel to four-wheel drive (and back again). “Shift-on-the-fly” capability let drivers change between the two while the car was moving. Only the 258 cu. in. six-cylinder engine was offered this year, with standard five-speed overdrive manual transmission. Alternator capacity jumped to 56 amps (from 42). Hoods lost their former ornament, but added a scoop effect along the top surface. Full-face radios with four speakers became standard. Other base equipment was similar to that of 1984. Eagle's Limited added a right remote chrome mirror, parcel shelf, woodgrain steering wheel and leather reclining seats, plus a new extra this year: wire wheel covers. The Sport package was similar to 1984, with dual mirrors. Two new body colors, Medium Blue and Dark Blue metallic, joined Garnet, Silver, Autumn Brown, Almond, and Mocha Da ...
