1985 OLDSMOBILE Firenza, V-6

FIRENZA — SERIES 3J — FOUR/V-6 — Firenza looked the same in front, but gained a revised look at the rear. It also received an optional V-6, a multi-port fuel-injected 173 cubic inch (2.8-liter) V-6 from Chevrolet in addition to the base 2.0-liter four (also Chevrolet's). The 130-horsepower V-6 was standard on GT. The GT delivered a 0–60 mph time of 9 seconds with four-speed manual, 9.5 seconds with automatic. To fit the V-6 into the Firenza, a serpentine belt system was used, along with a bubble hood. The grille area was expanded to improve cooling. Also optional was a 1.8-liter four from GM of Brazil. Coupe, sedan and wagons were available, along with sporty GT and sophisticated ES options. A total of 498 GT packages (RPO code W54) and 863 ES packages were installed. The ES had black-out body moldings and polycast wheels.
