1985 OLDSMOBILE Ninety-Eight Regency, V-6

NINETY-EIGHT REGENCY — SERIES 3C — V-6 — After a long history as a big rear-drive luxury model, Ninety-Eight switched to front-drive, though still able to carry six passengers. Introduced as an early 1985, the extensively redesigned Ninety-Eight was offered in coupe and sedan form, base and Regency trim. Aero styling highlights included a sloping hood and curved decklid, rounded edges, bumpers flush to bodyside and flush-mounted windshield and backlight. The windshield flowed into flush side door glass, with only a narrow black molding visible at the windshield (the pillar was under the glass). It was 15 inches shorter than its predecessor, weighing 570 to 635 pounds less. But inside dimensions were nearly identical to the 1984 rear-drive.
