1986 OLDSMOBILE Ninety-Eight Regency

NINETY-EIGHT REGENCY — SERIES 3C — V-6 — Not much changed for the front-drive Ninety-Eight in its second season. The most notable addition was on the option list: anti-lock braking, the first such offering from Oldsmobile. Sensors at each wheel detected wheel speed changes. Then, a computer altered the pressure applied at each wheel to prevent lockup and potential skids. Ninety-Eight had recessed quad headlamps and wraparound side marker lenses, with wide park/signal lamps below the bumper strip. Twin intake slots were in the bumper. The sloping grille consisted of tight cross-hatch sections. Cornering lamps stood low on the front fenders. Vertical taillamps with emblems wrapped slightly around onto each quarter panel.
